Profhilo vs polynucleotides

Profhilo hydrates and firms wide areas; polynucleotides suit thin, delicate skin such as under the eyes.

Profhilo London compares the two skin injectables people most often weigh up, Profhilo and polynucleotides, by what each is made of, what it suits, how long it lasts and what practitioners at UNTIL Marylebone and UNTIL Soho charge for it.

The short answer

Profhilo or polynucleotides: the short answer

Choose Profhilo when the main problem is dry, dull or slightly loose skin across the face, neck or body: it is a high dose of hyaluronic acid that spreads and hydrates over a wide area, in a course of two sessions. Choose polynucleotides when the problem is thin, fragile or crepey skin, above all under the eyes: they are purified DNA fragments that prompt the skin’s own repair, usually over a course of three.

Neither adds volume, and many practitioners combine them, with Profhilo across the face and polynucleotides under the eyes. Practices at both UNTIL clubs publish both, so one enquiry can cover either.

How Profhilo and polynucleotides work

Profhilo

Profhilo is hyaluronic acid, the water-binding sugar the skin already contains, processed by heat so it flows out from ten injection points rather than holding a shape. It draws water into the skin and prompts more collagen and elastin, so skin looks plumper and smoother and feels a little firmer. Profhilo treatment in London covers the course in detail.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are chains of DNA building blocks, purified from salmon or trout until nothing else from the fish remains. Injected into the skin they act as a signal to the cells that repair it, improving thickness, texture and hydration and settling low-grade inflammation. They are sometimes called salmon sperm injections online.

Which suits you: Profhilo or polynucleotides?

Under the eyes

Polynucleotides are more often the choice for thin, crepey or shadowed skin under the eyes, where the skin is delicate. Profhilo’s standard points sit on the cheek and jaw, so it reaches the under-eye only indirectly.

Across the face

For dryness and dullness and slight looseness across the cheeks and lower face, Profhilo is the more common choice, because one syringe spreads over the whole face in ten injections.

Neck, chest and hands

Both are used. Profhilo is often chosen for dry, crepey skin over a wider area; polynucleotides for very thin skin. The practitioner will look at the skin itself before suggesting either.

When neither fits

If the problem is a hollow, a deep fold or heavy sagging, neither adds the volume or lift needed. A practitioner who says so at the assessment is helping you avoid a course that cannot work.

A full polynucleotide course therefore usually costs a little more than a Profhilo course, because it has an extra session. A Profhilo appointment usually takes around 30 minutes. Profhilo vs polynucleotides
questions

Can I have Profhilo and polynucleotides together?

Yes, and many people do, usually Profhilo across the face and polynucleotides under the eyes, planned so the sessions do not clash. Practitioners at both UNTIL clubs publish both. Profhilo London passes your enquiry to UNTIL Health Concierge, and the practitioner you meet sets out a combined plan if it suits you.

Which lasts longer, Profhilo or polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides may hold a little longer: one practice at UNTIL Marylebone plans polynucleotide maintenance about every nine months, against around six months for Profhilo. Both depend on age, sun exposure and skin. Profhilo London connects you with practitioners who will explain how long each is likely to last for you.

Is Profhilo or polynucleotides better under the eyes?

Polynucleotides are the more common choice for thin, crepey under-eye skin, because they work on delicate skin and are placed directly in the area. Profhilo’s points sit on the cheek, so it helps the eye area only indirectly. Profhilo London suggests asking the practitioner what is causing your under-eye concern first.

Which costs more, Profhilo or polynucleotides?

Per session they are similar: £240 to £400 for Profhilo and £220 to £350 for polynucleotides at the practices Profhilo London works with. A full polynucleotide course, £600 to £750 for three, usually costs a little more than a Profhilo course of two at £450 to £550.

Do I need a different practitioner for Profhilo and polynucleotides?

No. Every practice that publishes Profhilo at UNTIL Marylebone and UNTIL Soho also publishes polynucleotides, so one practitioner can assess you for both and plan them together. Profhilo London passes your enquiry to UNTIL Health Concierge, who match you with a practitioner at the club you prefer.
