Skin laxity explained
Laxity is the loss of firmness and recoil in the skin: press it and it springs back more slowly, and it creases finely at rest. DermNet describes sagging as a result of lost elasticity, sped up by sun and smoking, which break down the collagen and elastin in the skin. It usually starts on the lower face, the neck and the inner arms.
